My Role
Practically 2 years in the making, this game did it all for us. I have been instrumental in designing core mechanics, the multiplayer architecture, and the tech and product design behind the in-game ads. Back then, Smartfox Server was not even out in the market, we had found a method to connect to a TCP/IP port, and a Multiplayer server was born out of this research (research was done in 7 days flat).
I am extremely proud of this game for a lot of reasons.
- The sheer size of the team that created it, many artists and animators, our artists watched videos or made us act out the sequence.
- The whole company, practically around 100 people played the multiplayer game simultaneously and helped us fix the game.
- A few years later when I left the company, I saw the game still generating jobs, my new company was still working on my old game, a proud moment!
- Around the year 2019, I met two different individuals at two different locations in India, both claimed to have played my games in school/college. I had tears in my eyes. Another proud moment!
You see we don’t just make games, we touch people’s lives! I sincerely believe that.
